New European Ensemble presents 1984 live in concert. The Dutch language performance based on Orwell’s iconic novel includes actor Boris van der Ham as narrator and a video introduction by Edward Snowden. Estonian composer Mihkel Kerem wrote an award-winning new ensemble piece inspired by the novel that forms the centerpiece of the performance. 1984 will be premiered on October 27th in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam, followed by tour dates in The Hague, Leiden, Groningen, ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Enschede.
