The New European Ensemble will play Vortx Temporum on the PasiMusic festival in Finland this autumn! The sextet Vortex Temporum by the French spectralist Gérard Grisey is seen more and more as one of the great late-20th-century chamber music works. Despite the recent success that Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker had with it, the work remains under-performed.

That is all going to change this autumn. The New European Ensemble will play three concerts in the Kuoppio region on 6-8 October. Entrance is free of charge. Gérard Grisey's masterpiece is accompanied by pieces of the Finish composer Kaija Saariaho and music by Justin Christensen.

Vortex Temporum is an absolute ‘classic’ for the New European Ensemble, since it was one of the pieces that inspired the founding of the group in 2008
