claude debussy (1862-1918)

In 2018 is it a hundred years ago since the French composer Claude Debussy died. With this concert the New European Ensemble combines Debussy's music with his critical writing. The pieces you will hear tonight are by Debussy himself, and by two composers who were influenced by his music.

Claude Debussy - Deux arabesques (bew. Henk Alkema)

Mikel Urquiza - Les lueurs se sont multipliées

Tristan Murail - Garrigue

Claude Debussy - Sonata for flute, viola and harp

Kaija Saariaho - Terrestre

Claude Debussy - Six épigraphes antiques (bew. Karl Lenski)
