The New European Ensemble plays music to one of the greatest silent horror movies ever made. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a masterpiece in German Expressionist cinema, and today it is accompanied by music from contemporaneous composers Salvatore Sciarrino, Luca Francesconi and Tristan Murail

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a 1920 German silent horror film, directed by Robert Wiene and written by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer. It is considered as one of the most important works of German Expressionist cinema.
